Abstract : During the war boom, Breton farmers engaged in a quick and vigorous modernization movement, which resulted in a considerable increase in agricultural yields. The abundant Breton agricultural production that results feeds, since then, a powerful food industry, the largest employer of the peninsula, hence the term "Breton model". But Breton agriculture is in difficulty now for some twenty years and many jobs are threatened in the food industry, so there is much talk now of the "crisis of Breton model". We will show that what is generally called "the Breton model" is, in reality, the "white Breton model", based on a Catholic philosophical substrate, with strong societal and cultural implications. Then, we will highlight that there is in fact a competitor model: the "red model" (that is to say, a model linked to the left). Finally, we will discuss a third way, designed by an anarchist (Emile Masson) in the 1910s but never implemented, this could be the "black model".
