This paper describes the design and implementation of St@tNet,an internet environment for the teaching of basic Applied Statistics. St@tNet has been developed by a consortium of french-speaking universities. After a few general considerations on education for the Information Society, and more specifically for the teaching of statistics, we will present our product in its present state of development.
