Modulating the activation of hepatic stellate cells: A cunning way for metastatic cells to create a permissive soil for seeding in the liver?

Résumé

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most frequent type of primary cancer in the liver. However, far more common than HCC are liver metastases. Indeed, the liver is one of the most frequent sites of implantation of metastatic tumor cells originating from skin, colon and breast primary cancers.
