Une Application de l'Analyse Harmonique non-commutative à l'Analyse de Saillance : Le Cas de 3 Vignettes-Etalons

Abstract : The techniques expounded in this work pertain to the study of response consistency problems in subjective health surveys involving threee anchoring vignettes. The observed responses to the vignette questions define a frequency distribution on the group of permutations of three elements. Using harmonic analyis, this frequency distribution is projected on an orthonormal basis adapted to the group structure. The identification of the most important harmonics and their interpretation leads to the identification of the anchoring vignettes which are most critical in terms of response consistency problems. The proposed methodology is examplified using data from the Share 2004 survey.
