Can Perfluorinated Aromatics Be Oxidized ?
Résumé
A current challenge in the field of bio-inspired catalytic chemistry is the development of efficient catalysts readily accessible on a large scale. In this context, (Pc)FeIII(ľ-N)FeIV(Pc) complexes seem to be promising candidates combining availability and high reactivity in many reactions. The practical and green features of this novel approach (H2O2 as the clean oxidant, water as possible reaction medium, easily accessible solid catalyst) as well as the relevance to biological oxidation are of great importance both from the practical and fundamental points of view. N-Bridged diiron phthalocyanine complexes show a new unexpected reactivity and provide a novel promising approach to challenging catalytic transformations.
