Identifier une trame écologique à l'échelle du Massif central français

Abstract : In line with the "Grenelle de l'environnement", environmental management has taken a spatial dimension by integrating landscape ecology concepts. Through the "Trame Verte et Bleue", it has also integrated town and country planning policy. In response to this strategic challenge, some initiatives have been taken, to spark reflection about the ecological continuities identification and mapping. This paper aims to introduce the experimental project carried out by the French Massif central's natural parks association (IPAMAC) on an experimental project of Massif central's ecological network characterization. The large study area and data unavailability have influenced our choice not to use a target species approach, but to focus on habitat quality instead. The main challenge was to estimate this quality, to assess its biodiversity potential, then identify core areas and corridors.
