Towards formal knowledge intelligibility at the semiotic level

Abstract : Exchange of formalised knowledge through computers is developing fast. It is assumed that using knowledge will increase the efficiency of the systems by providing a better understanding of exchanged information. However, intelligibility is by no way ensured by the use of a semantically defined language. This statement of interest explains why and calls for the involvement of the semioticians for tackling this problem.
