L'analyse des sites Internet. Une radiographie du cyberesp@ce

Abstract : How do we analyse an Internet site? What methodological stances do we adopt when faced with a blog, a portal, a commercial site, a corporate site, a game site, or that of an association, or a municipality? Despite the growing importance of the web in professional communication and the spawning of sites, the available tools, methods, and concepts are not always well-adapted. L'analyse des sites Internet first describes how to carry out sociological, hypertextual, and sociosemiotic analyses adapted to home pages, tree structure, interactivity and the fragmented contents of the sites. It then shows how to accompany these direct analyses with critical examination of statistical figures and discourse on the Web in the press. Supported by various types of data - analyses of contents, in-depth interviews and statistical surveys - this book also takes up themes considered fundamental to the understanding of the web in the last fifteen years: blogs, cyberdemocracy, management of corporate communication on the web, strategies for general public portals, online gambling, Internet usages, etc. This book is meant for both professionals and multimedia students eager for expertise, and all those who want to understand the social, aesthetic, ergonomic, normative, economic and professional logic underpinning websites, in order to take a critical view of these phenomena.
