'Realistic-Fiction Storybooks' as a Resource for Problematic Questioning of Living Being with Pupils in Primary School

In this article, realistic-fiction storybooks are taken as a resource for questioning a scientific reality to which the story refers. The study shows how pupils aged 7 to 8 years articulate understanding of the story and problem-posing activity, in the context of didactical situations based on the story in the illustrated book "Fish is Fish" (Lionni, 1974). More broadly, it is suggested that there are appropriate uses for resources that enable a continuous back-and-forth movement between fiction and reality, in the context of developing a constantly renewed scientific literacy.
