Targeted Energy Transfer in a linear structure coupled to several Nonlinear Energy Sink in parallel under periodic forcing: theoretical and experimental results

Résumé

We investigate the behavior of a linear structure coupled to several SDOF NES devices under periodic forcing. The frequency response is analytically investigated and a triggering criterion is defined for the occurrence of Targeted Energy Transfer (TET). Then an experimental study is carried out on a shake table using a four storey linear structure with 2NES in parallel coupled to the last floor. Experimental results are compared with a similar experiment involving a single NES and with analytical results.
