Crise du Golfe et ordre politique au Moyen-Orient : Présentation

Abstract : This paper introduces the contributions given during the fourth Franco-Egyptian politist meeting in Aix-en-Provence (France), in the aftermath of the second Gulf war. Based on extensive documentation, it raises four research strands: the question of nation-states and borders in the MENA region; the new fracture between oil-producers and non-producers; the rise of an encompassing legitimating discourse, which bridges together Arabism and Islamism; and finally new political protests in certain countries of the region.
