Architecture for integration of product life cycle management and production
Résumé
Nowadays, the effective collaboration between product developers and manufacturers throughout the entire product life cycle is becoming much more important for the most advanced competitiveness of companies. Such collaboration requires the integration of information systems that handle engineering activities and production activities. Thus, in order to enable the integration between the PLM (Product Life cycle Management) system and the MES (Manufacturing Execution System), it is necessary to match ontologies describing them in a sound manner. To address this need, an approach, which integrates data exchanged between PLM and MES, is proposed in this study. The proposed approach is based on the mappings between ontologies that resolve syntactic and semantic conflicts of data handled by these systems.
