A Salicylaldoxime [Mn12] Complex with an Unprecedented [MnIII4MnII8(μ-OCH3)4] Core

Résumé

A mixed-valent [Mn12] complex with an unprecedented [MnIII4MnII8(μ-OCH3)4] core was obtained by oxidation of MnCl2 in the presence of salicylaldoxime (saoH2). This complex adopts a rare topology based on a central [MnII4] cage decorated by four dinuclear [MnII-MnIII] motifs. Studies ofthe magnetic properties show the presence of strong intracomplex antiferromagnetic interactions and suggest an ST = 2 spin ground state.
