Parcours de vie et réseaux personnels de familles dites maltraitantes

Abstract : This article outlines the results of a survey based on interviews concerning life trajectories, social context and personal networks of thirty families declared as maltreating and/or neglecting by the children protection services in France. Content analysis show that half of the personal and family life histories reveal negative and traumatic experiences lived during childhood. On the other hand, a large part of these families live under a hard economical stress. The results of statistical analysis on personal networks and social support allow to produce typologies of networks. One sole network structure with less social support was found linked with one particular biographic trajectory.
