The Double Chooz detector

A. Cabrera

Résumé

Double Chooz is a neutrino oscillations experiment using neutrinos from the Chooz reactors, located in France, intending to measure, or limit, the unmeasured leptonic mixing angle θ13. The experimental technique relies on the use of two detectors of novel design to reduce the so far dominating neutrino flux and detector systematic uncertainties, backgrounds and achieving long term stability. This document synthesises the talk delivered, on behalf of the collaboration, in the 11th Pisa Meeting 2009 at Elba (Italy).
