Cartesian Feedback with digital enhancement applied to fully integrated CMOS RF transmitter

Abstract : The trend to higher data rates communication systems requires complex modulation techniques, resulting in signals with high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). To satisfy the stringent linearity requirements, linearization techniques have attracted a lot of attentions in the research community. Many methods (analog or digital) are proposed to reduce the effects of nonlinearities like Pre-distortion, Post-distortion, Feedback and Feed-forward techniques. Among these, Cartesian feedback (CFB) is an attractive option. Hence, we develop an analog and digital Cartesian Feedback technique to an integrated transmitter in a 65nm CMOS technology. This technique offers flexibility and paves the way to multi-standard linearized RF transmitters
