Textiles from Bengal in Pagan (Myanmar) from late eleventh century and onwards
Résumé
Study of decorative motifs printed on garments as observed in the murals of Pagan and similar to motifs also seen in Bengal at the same period. Epigraphical testimony from Pagan refers to the import of cotton from India, and this study allows to suggest that trade took more particularly place between Pagan and the nearby region of Comilla in Southeast Bangladesh.
