In situ comparison of velocity and concentration measurements techniques

Résumé

Modern sewer systems are subject to increasingly stringent water policy laws. For wastewater management, important parameters are flow rates and pollutant loads conveyed in sewers. Precise knowledge of pollutant fluxes thus requires a better assessment of both the velocity and suspended matter fields. The aim of our work is an experimental characterization of a well known sewer through several techniques including acoustic Doppler flowmeter for velocity estimation, sampling results and acoustic online measurements for solid concentrations.
