Dielectric properties of polyamide 6-montmorillonite nanocomposites

Résumé

Blown PA6-montmorillonite nanocomposite films were studied by dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) in order to investigate the filler effect on the molecular mobility of the polymer chains. The formalism of electric modulus was used to analyze the dielectric response. Four relaxation processes and two Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars (MWS) interfacial polarizations were observed. It was found that almost all the relaxations were sensitive to water and to filler contents. The origin of the two MWS-relaxations is discussed in this paper. These processes are assigned to the presence of ionic species at the interfaces between the gamma-crystalline and the amorphous phases and between the filler and the polymer, respectively.
