Abstract : One strategy to face the challenge of energy consumption has been the promotion of more efficient products and infrastructures. For the electr(on)ic industry, in-use energy consumption is a significant contributor to environmental impacts of a product lifecycle. Synergico is a contribution to the Design for Energy Efficiency of electr(on)ic equipments focusing on the use phase. This paper presents one of the Synergico tools that verifies that a higher in-use energy efficiency indeed decreases the environmental impacts of the product lifecycle and our method to be articulated with corporate design processes. Both are illustrated with a case study from the industry.
