Distributed Environment for “Greener” Transportation of Smart Product

Résumé

This paper introduces a modeling and distributed simulation platform realized as a system of systems built to validate a logistic supply chain that will include geolocation and RFID. The presentation of the project context gives a sight onto the current progress of the research in the field of the implementation methods of information systems solutions and the interoperability of distributed logistics enterprises. The skills convergence in these domains allows handling the problem of networked heterogeneous logistic enterprises modeling and the implementation of distributed solution for validation of concepts by simulation. The works engaged to develop interoperability between components with HLA found a working case in this logistic system. The proposed solution considers systematically interoperability problems of information collected on the products, exchanged through distributed networks, during their delivery in a “product driven” freight delivery approach. Information collected by simulation is employed to observe and optimize the freight logistic systems and the impact on the environment. The final goal consists first in proposing logistic G-DEVS models of delivery chain partners' components. The second objective is running delivery scenarios on the platform, to check HLA compliant interoperability between distributed G-DEVS simulation and other software components, the consistency in the sequence of message exchange and the behavior of the components. From these results a discussion is given to validate or refute conceptual choices.
