Photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in water and in air. An analytical approach

Résumé

This paper reports on the development of three specific methods allowing to better understand the mechanism of the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants both in air and in gas phases. The first method uses a home made IR cell to study the TiO2 surface during the photocatalytic degradation. The second method uses an ATD/GC/MS system to study the gas phase at a ppbv level during the degradation while the third one uses an HPLC/NMR system to discriminate between different positional isomers.
