Influence of exposure to Wi-Fi radiofrequency fields on the fertility of rats (EROPS project)

Résumé

One aim of the EROPS project was to investigate the effects of RF radiation on the reproductive system in compliance with the OECD-421 protocol (fertility part). Free-moving male and female rats (before and during pregnancy) were whole-body (WB) exposed using a reverberation chamber to a Wi-Fi signal (2450 MHz) at low (WB SAR = 0.1 W/kg) or high (WB SAR = 4 W/kg) exposure levels. The fertility study includes an observatory period over the mating period, followed by a macroscopic and histology analysis of sexual organs in both sexes and a study of some foetal and pup parameters. Preliminary results will be presented at the meeting.
