A Proxy-based Model for Service Provision in Opportunistic Networks

Abstract : This paper presents a proxy-based model for an enhanced provision of application services in opportunistic networks. This model makes it possible for service providers to specify what services can be delivered by proxies, and what mobile devices are expected to act as proxies. The proxy selection can be performed either in a distributed and autonomic manner or in a centralised manner. This paper also presents some results of the evaluations of this model we have performed using simulation techniques.
