Living polymerization of olefins initiated by nickel catalysts
Résumé
Contribution reports for the first time on living-like polymerization of olefins initiated by several diimine complexes of nickel. Further, unusual kinetics of these systems is observed revealing decrease of propagation rate constant values with increase of initial monomer concentration. This behavior can be correlated with suggested mechanism, which includes competition between isomerization (chain walking) and propagation reaction, and is documented by changes in polymer microstructure.
