Expérimenter la GIZC : que nous disent les 25 territoires français ?

Abstract : A description of the local management practices is proposed in order to analyse their relevance to the ICZM principles. The conceptual framework is based on the Recommendation of the European Union, the integrative dimensions of the ICZM and the definition of ICZM as a toolbox. Management methods cannot be envisaged without taking into account their purposes, i.e. for the studied cases: a better coherence between the administrations concerned, an awareness of Sustainable Development and the elaboration of a territory project. The results obtained allowed to identify a large number of implemented management resources. The best way to build a territory project is to organise meetings between concerned actors. Furthermore, the local authorities share information. Very few original and appropriate practices were experimented to facilitate the spatial integration. Two management procedures are described in detail: participatory forums and “randovisites” (hiking). In order to analyze the coastal management resources, we feel in the conclusion that we have to detail them according to a proposed typology. Only a detailed description of the management practices lead to their relevance to the principles of ICZM. In this paper, we propose the definition and the terms of a description of a management practice.
