Tools characteristics to support all life cycle stakeholders' requirements in collaborative engineering design

This paper presents some work about characterization of tools that support designers on requirement management. Indeed, in concurrent engineering context, requirements management has become a complex task because requirements have to be taken into account as soon as possible in the design process. We analyzed the design process through different points of view. We built a three-dimensional grid to characterize requirement management tools. Our goal is to validate the capability of this grid to characterize and evaluate the capabilities and the lacks of requirement management tools on supporting designers during the design process.
