A new formulation for Admissible Model Matching in Fault-Tolerant Control

Résumé

This paper proposes a new formulation of the Admissible Model Matching Method (AMM) for Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC). The essential feature of the AMM approach is that it considers a set of admissible closed-loop behaviors for the faulty system. In previous works, this set is characterized by a set of inequalities restricting the closed-loop poles location and the fault accommodation problem is formulated as a constrained optimization or a multicriteria optimization problem. In this work, the set of admissible behaviors is speci¯ed in terms of the location of the poles in a union of particular convex regions called D-regions. On one hand, this allows a straightforward representation for a wide variety of practical control speci¯cations. On the other hand, D-regions are characterized by Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) and the fault accommodation can be formulated in terms of several LMI (feasibility) problems that can be solved using the associated well known and e±cient algorithms.
