Incandescent Lamps Characterisation and Modelling

Résumé

This paper deals with incandescent lamps, still the most used lighting sources in residential area, which leads towards different operational constraints in the low voltage power systems (LVPS), such as inrush currents, harmonics, high frequency perturbations, etc... Hence, the aim of the work is the characterisation and modelling of standard and halogen incandescent lamps in EMTP-ATP, in order to understand LVPS transient phenomena and the conditions of lamps compatibility with the electrical devices such as circuit breakers, residual current protection, etc... Case studies and measurements on a real LVPS were performed to show the accuracy of developed models.
