Abstract : Learning Physics in France as in number of other countries is unfortunately one of the less appreciated topics by the students. It has been revealed by the international on-line survey that we have carried out and which has now collected the answers of more than 7000 readers of the « Harry Potter » saga. This situation, which is not tolerable in a developped country, led us to analyze accurately the connections existing beetween physics and the world of wizards described in the novels. Particularly, it has been shown that three of the subjects taught in the wizard school are close from the Physics we know. Even though a direct question about the reasons why a reader of the saga likes Physics gives no precise and meaningfull information, the same question about the three subjects provides a clear answer. It clearly indicates in each of the three topics that it is a need for might which has led to their choice. This result is a positive test for our choice of using a novel as a go beetween to study the way the students consider the school systems. It also allowes making suggestions to make better the lamentable situation which prevails today. For exemple school trips towards spectacular area should be organized to show how mighty are Physics and the physicists met by the students during these trips. From a more general point of wiew it shoud be better to speak to the hearts before using the brains.
