Documentare l'intangibile

This essay analyse the transition from database to information systems in social sciences and, more specifically, in anthropology. The author starts from the definition of Intangible Cultural Heritage according to UNESCO to defend the use of audiovisual tools for documenting and saveguarding the intangible cultural heritage through the constitution of multimedia archives. The cases the author analyses are that of the UNESCO project of database to collect the files from the program Proclamation of Masterpieces of Intangible Cultural Heritage and that of the most recent information systems created by the anthropologists of the Center for Research and Documentation (CREDO) in Marseille. Their aim is to structure the ethnographic information and to analyze it through comparaison and metatags, in order to render it through search engines, interactives maps and auto-generated lists.
Cet essai porte sur l'analyse de la transition des bases des données vers les systèmes d'information en sciences sociales, notamment en anthropologie. L'auteur part de la définition de Patrimoine Immatériel selon l'UNESCO pour proposer l'emploi des outils audiovisuels comme moyen de documentation et de préservation du patrimoine immatériel à travers la création d'archives multimédia. Les cas analysés sont ceux de la base de données envisagés pour recueillir les dossiers multimédia de la Proclamation des Chefs-d'œuvre du Patrimoine Immatériel de l'Humanité à L'UNESCO et celui des plus récents systèmes d'informations créés au Centre de Recherche et Documentation sur l'Océanie (CREDO) de Marseille par les anthropologues. Ici le but étant de structurer l'information ethnographique et de l'analyser à travers la comparaison et les méta-données pour la restituer sous la forme dynamique de moteurs de recherche, de cartes interactives et de listes auto-générées.
