Synthèse géographique de la sécheresse dans les régions océaniques
Résumé
The consequences of droughts are still severe in areas where agriculture is an important activity. In the western part of France, for example, it is obvious that drought is not only a matter of precipitation. One should also consider the kind of crop and its phenology. In a first step, a geographical approach has to assess, with the best accuracy, the hydrological budget. But the spatial distribution of water stress in vegetation can only be known with remote sensing. In a second step, using N.O.A.A. images (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) it becomes possible to map the diversity of regional conditions of drought.
