Time-domain FEM simulation of Japanese and French vowel /a/ with nasal coupling
Résumé
The acoustic analysis of three-dimensional (3-D) geometrical vocal-tract models with nasal coupling for Japanese and French vowel /a/ has been performed by a finite element method (FEM) in frequency domain. In this paper, we synthesize vowel /a/ of the 3-D vocal-tract models with the nasal coupling for two Japanese and one French subjects using the FEM in time domain. We examine whether there are any differences between the synthesized vowels of the models with and without the nasal coupling by using an ABX discrimination test.
