Optimal control approach in non linear mechanics

The purpose of this article is to present some applications of optimal control theory for non linear mechanical problems. In particular we consider some inverse problems dealing with the determination of unknown boundary conditions, the determination of internal state resulting of unknown loading history. Extensions to asymptotic behavior due to cyclic loading are also presented.
