Further results on porous silicon optical waveguides at 1.55 µm

We present our recent results on planar and buried waveguides on porous silicon or on oxidized porous silicon. Optical losses were measured and also near-field observations of guided modes were carried out. Some single mode waveguides with low losses (2 dB/cm) were obtained. The principal contributions of the losses are discussed.
