Applications of the finite volumes method for complex flows : From the theory to the practice

In this short paper, we recall some well-known results on hyperbolic systems of conservation laws. We introduce the Godunov finite volume scheme for their approximations. We then present two recent applications to multiphase flows: the computation of a wave breaking and the construction of entropic scheme for phase transition.
