Les pauses intra-constituants en anglais spontané
Résumé
In this study we present three kinds of pauses that appear inside the intono-syntactic constituent and which are : displaced demarcation pauses, used by speakers to keep their speaking turn, hesitation pauses (when the speaker doesn't find the right word) and focalisation pauses (used by speakers to mark emphasis on a certain item in their discourse). Our approach is to analyze these pauses at the discursive, prosodic and gestural levels respectively. It comes out that the combination of the three levels of analysis allows the analyst to distinguish between the three kinds of pauses.
