Improvement of time-domain modelling of a reverberation chamber

Résumé

This paper deals with the modelling of a Reverberation Chamber (RC) using time-domain techniques. Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is applied to the simulation of a RC. The real losses of RC are taken into account in a post-treatment process. Using Finite-Volume Time-Domain (FVTD) grants a larger geometrical flexibility than FDTD by allowing unstructured meshes design. The predicted FVTD results are compared with those obtained by FDTD simulations. The aim of this work is to put in the focus the principles of the FVTD method used to influence and decrease numerical dissipation. In this way variations around FVTD scheme are presented and discussed on practical simulations involving RC
