A mixed structural/functional graph based model for fault diagnosis and systemic risk analysis

Jean-Marie Flaus

Résumé

In this paper, we propose a modeling approach based on a mixed structural / functional graph allowing to represent at the same time the structural and the functional aspects of a system. This model provides a framework to formalise risk analysis while being as simple as possible. The main interest of this new approach is to allow to achieve, firstly the functional failure analysis and, secondly, to identify physical poten-tial damages, which are two complementary parts of a full risk analysis. The resulting failure propagation graph is useful for Model Based Reasoning for the fault diagnosis, the detection of the dangerous situations, and the prediction of the critical events. In addition, the approach is modular and reusable. The approach is il-lustrated on an example.
