How to manage a tactical planning with an APS (Advanced Planning Systems)?

Managing correctly the always changing customer demands is a challenge for companies today, especially because of its impact on the Supply Chain (Forrester effect). Tactical planning is very useful in achieving this objective. In this paper we highlight how to manage a robust tactical planning to obtain more stable and robust production plans. After a brief presentation of the concepts of robustness and stability, we illustrate, by means of an industrial application, how to obtain greater robustness in planning through different practices. Finally, we present our conclusions along with some perspectives in terms of tactical planning management.
