Response of saturated porous media to cyclic thermal loading
Résumé
The response of a semi-infinite saturated porous medium submitted to a harmonic thermal loading on its free face is studied herein. The pressure diffusion equation that governs the fluctuation of the interstitial pressure is established. This equation allows us to obtain prevalent parameters. The location of the maximum fluid pressure is derived and it is shown to depend on the diffusivity ratio and the frequency of the thermal loading. Furthermore, it is also established that the maximum fluid pressure depends on the diffusivity ratio and the thermal amplitude only.
