DichotoZoom : Technique de sélection d’objets dans un environnement virtuel 3D affiché sur Smartphone

Abstract : Except for video games, the use of 3D virtual environment (3D VE) on Smartphone has not yet been popularized. This is due to lack of interaction techniques to interact with a 3D VE composed of many objects. In this article, we focus on selecting objects in dense 3D VE. We propose DichotoZoomwhich allows the selection of objects inside a set of already pre-selected ones, with a limited number of actions. In a first study, we compare our technique with the Circulation technique, suggested by the literature. This study shows the effectiveness of DichotoZoomwhen the set contain significantly numerous elements. Finally, we studied its use with various interaction modalities used on Smartphone : using physical or graphical buttons, and gestural interactions via touch screen or moving the device itself.
