Ville, système de journaux et umbrella model : une lecture à géographie variable

Abstract : City, system of newspapers and umbrella model : a reading to variable geography / The article presents a North American model of competition between newspapers, the umbrella model, of the mid-seventies. It experiences its perennity, in the United States and in the Northern Europe, from the interventions brought to the iconic and textual shape of origin. The case of Boston since the beginning of 2000s, in a spatial context of type " metroplex ", allows to discuss the evolution of the initial model towards a ring model and its limits. Keywords : umbrella model, press and city, Metroplex, Boston, content analysis.
