Centralités spatio-temporelles dans la ville polyrythmique : proposition d'une méthode appliquée au cas de Milan

The spatial and temporal morphology of the contemporary city has radically changed. On the one hand, we moved from a compact and monocentric city to a sprawl and polycentric city. On the other hand, on the temporal side, a polyrhythmic city is outlined, in which the rhythms of populations and activities are increasingly differentiated, desynchronised and extended over 24 hours, making socio-temporal coordination problematic. In this context, in order to guarantee temporal well-being and efficiency, public policies must adopt tools capable of understanding the multiplicity and heterogeneity of territorial pulsations. The paper proposes a method for identifying time-space centralities based on the location, time and reason for travel. The method, based on the analysis of the Origin-Destination (OD) 2016 dataset of the Lombardy Region, will be applied to the case of Milan. The analysis made it possible to identify different time-space profiles of the Milanese urban areas and confirm the polycentric and polyrhythmic nature of the contemporary city.

La morphologie spatiale et temporelle de la ville contemporaine a radicalement changé. D’une part, nous sommes passés de la ville compacte et monocentrique à la ville éclatée et polycentrique. En revanche, sur le plan temporel se dessine une ville polyrythmique où les rythmes des populations et des activités sont de plus en plus différenciés, désynchronisés et prolongés en 24 heures, rendant problématique la coordination socio-temporelle. Dans ce contexte, pour assurer le bien-être et l’efficacité temporelle, les politiques publiques doivent adopter des outils capables de comprendre la multiplicité et l’hétérogénéité des pulsations territoriales. La communication propose une méthode pour identifier les centralités spatio-temporelles en fonction du lieu, du temps et de la raison du déplacement quotidien. La méthode, basée sur l’analyse de données Origine-Destination (OD) 2016 de la région Lombardie, sera appliquée au cas de Milan. Les analyses ont permis d’identifier différents profils spatio-temporels des zones urbaines milanaises et de confirmer le trait polycentrique et polyrythmique de la ville contemporaine.
