The “Wa'shah method”: an original laminar debitage from Hadramawt, Yemen

The discovery of several surface sites revealed the existence of an original type of lithic industry, unknown until now in Yemen, and in the rest of South Arabia. This type of debitage, called the “WaΚshah method” is a method of laminar debitage (blade production). We announced this discovery in a former PSAS paper (Crassard & Bodu 2004), and here we develop the definition of this type of debitage in the light of recent analyses
