This work is concerned with the study of the statistical properties of the field transmitted by an atomic medium. It is devoted to two problems: the first part of the thesis deals with the possibility of reducing photon noise in an interferometric measurement by using the light emitted by an atomic source having specific statistical properties, the squeezed states. In the second part, we study the statistical properties of the field at the output of an optical amplifier, when the incoming field is in a single photon state: can a photon be cloned?

Ce travail s'inscrit dans le cadre de l'étude des propriétés statistiques du champ transmis par un milieu atomique. Il est consacré à deux problèmes : la première partie de la thèse s'intéresse à la possibilité de réduire le bruit de photons dans une mesure interférométrique en utilisant la lumière émise par une source atomique ayant des propriétés statistiques particulières, les états comprimés. Dans la seconde partie, nous étudions les propriétés statistiques du champ à la sortie d'un amplificateur optique, lorsque le champ entrant est dans un état à un photon : peut-on dupliquer les photons ?
