| Measurements of energy spread and angular intensity of ions emitted from a liquid gallium ion source are presented which indicate that it is possible to reduce the energy spread without losing much of the angular intensity by using sharp emitters with a higher flow impedance. Furthermore different tetrode lens systems are compared for their suitability with such sources. |
