|
| Experiments in a scanning electron microscope are described which enable in situ studies of the morphological evolution of metal tips (Au). The existence of a rotation of the grains of a polycrystalline tip, which leads to an annihilation of grain boundaries, is directly visualized, measured and interpreted. |
