| We develop here a new approach to the problem of vacancies in solid Helium 4, describing them as small liquid droplets. In this model the vacancy effective mass is very small : 0.1 mHe, where mHe is the atomic mass of He4. The validity of the model depends on the liquid solid surface tension (α1s' which is not well known. The lowest estimate of α1s gives a vacancy-transverse phonon interaction small enough to allow the propagation of a vacancy second sound, decoupled from the phonon ordinary second sound. |
