We demonstrate, that despite their vanishing oscillator strength, indirect excitons can strongly contribute to the photoinduced reflectivity and Kerr rotation. This phenomenon is governed by the interaction between direct and indirect excitons. Both dark and bright states of indirect excitons can be probed by these nonlinear optical techniques. %G English %2 https://hal.science/hal-02046568/document %2 https://hal.science/hal-02046568/file/PhysRevD.96.pdf %L hal-02046568 %U https://hal.science/hal-02046568 %~ PRES_CLERMONT %~ CNRS %~ UNIV-BPCLERMONT %~ OPENAIRE %~ L2C %~ INSTITUT_PASCAL %~ ACL-SF %~ MIPS %~ UNIV-MONTPELLIER %~ UM-2015-2021 %~ TEST3-HALCNRS
